Miami Bus Stop

This bus stop is located on NW 79 St. and NW 19 Ave. The design is inspired by the umbrella, a device that can be used for protection against rain and heat, two very harsh conditions in Miami. Two concrete forms that come up from the ground with a glass structure inside. When rain falls, it lands in between the concrete and glass structures creating a flowing water display for visitors to experience inside. The seats are made with the same mechanism as an umbrella and out of PVC PES, a flexible, but sturdy fabric. A bookshelf is kept, encouraging non-commuters to visit the stand. All parts of the design are purposefully placed to hold up the roof and carry out their respective programs.
